Welcome to our online Hebrew Lessons with Tiaan Nel. We trust that you will enjoy your learning experience. The lessons are currently divided into three groups, starting with Hebrew 101 with the Hebrew basics, reading and writing. Hebrew 201 is focused on verbs and grammar. Hebrew 301 is focussed on the more practical side of the Hebrew language.
Today we will learn more about the verb ‘to be’ or the absence thereof in Hebrew.
We introduce ourselves, learn how to ask ‘Who are you?’ along with the manners needed to
finish the introduction. We learn a few more questions and words we need in every
conversation as well as an exciting new Bible verse. Enjoy!
This week we continue to learn easy sentences, question words, a few opposites, a bit of grammar and a new Bible verse.

it to your friends in Hebrew to encourage them as well?
In this week’s lesson, we learn very important verbs, which are used daily and dive in further
into the pattern of the Hebrew language. You are doing so well! Isn’t it amazing how your brainhas gotten used to the strange letters and sounds? How you see a word and can actually read it and translate it? From this week on we’re adding more and more nouns in the workbook for you to be able to expand your vocabulary. Have fun!
Today we speak about the days of the week and the months of the year.
We also learn some helpful verbs and at the end of the workbook,
you can revise what you have learnt so far with some fun assignments. Enjoy!
Today we learn the numbers 11 to 100. We continue with some wonderful verbs, the Israeli currency, a Bible verse and we ask the question: ‘How much does this cost?’. Have fun!
Today our focus will be on the root of words. Every Hebrew word has a root and if you can recognize it, you can find connections and understand the deeper meaning of the words quicker.
In the online recording, Tiaan explains how to find the root of the word as well as the importance of it. We also look at three verbs and a wonderful Bible verse.
At the end of the workbook you will find some reading exercises. We are adding an audio recording of these texts to help you with the pronunciation.
The audio recordings were made for you by the children of Jacques and Chanelle, who live in Jerusalem and go to school there.
Our focus in this lesson is on words and sentences to use in everyday conversations. In the workbook we’ve added a recipe for Hummus!
This week we find ourselves ‘In the classroom’ and work with words and concepts we have already learnt.
This week we take a stroll across the Jewish market and play games with the words we have already learnt in our previous lessons. I wonder where we will be going next week?
Today we find ourselves in a restaurant where we also learn a new concept called ‘Smichut’. It is the concept of joining two nouns together (compound nouns). We’ve also added reading exercises in this lesson’s workbook along with two audio files to make sure you pronounce the words correctly. Have fun!
Join us in the office, where we meet different professions and ask ourselves if they work in an office or not.
Today we are in the Zoo! We meet fascinating animals and the Zookeeper. We also continue to write cursive letters.
After this lesson you will be able to describe your house and home and some of the appliances in Hebrew. We also take a look at a wonderful new Bible verse.
