Hebrew: NECHOSHET נְחשֶׁת
Brass has a red undertone and should not be confused with copper, which has more of a yellow undertone. Brass is the purest form of red.
Spiritual value: Suffering
Through Yeshua’s sacrifice and suffering, we can be redeemed. His suffering was not only that which happened at the cross. His suffering and sacrifice had to do with Him deciding to only do the will of the Father and to completely lay down His own fleshly wills and desires. Hebrews 5:8: “Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered…”
Through suffering we learn obedience. After disobedience, we suffer consequences which help us to choose obedience the next time around.
Romans 5:8: “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Messiah; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.” That doesn’t mean that we must be crucified or bleed and suffer outwardly. It is an inner suffering where we decide to do the will of God and lay down our own will daily.
