Hebrew: Scarlet: Tola תּוֹלָע; Scarlet worm: Tola’at shani תּוֹלַעַת שָׁנִי
Natural value: One of the four colors used in the making of the woven materials in the tabernacle and the garments of the high priest. The color is won from a worm, called tola’at shani.
Spiritual value: blood
The female crimson worm willingly attaches herself to an oak tree, knowing, that she is going to give up her own life so that a new family can be born. She attaches herself to the tree, lays eggs, dies, a red fluid comes off of her and surrounds the eggs. This process takes 3 days. After that, the color of the fluid changes from red to white and the fluid can be used as a preservation for wood or in medicine, to bring healing. Yeshua willingly went onto a tree – a wooden cross – and gave His life so that God’s family could be born. He preserves us (we are wood) and has become our Healer.
Isaiah 1:18: “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow…” The prophet refers to the lifestyle of this worm! Red becomes white…
The blood of Yeshua brings us into a new family, preserves our lives and heals us. It has brought us forgiveness, deliverance, healing and so much more, but needs to be worked out by us so that it will become visible in our lives.
